If you’ve been on the internet long enough, you should already know that
the internet is not our friend.

YouTube is actively pushing suicidal, bloody, bizarre, and disturbing animations to children, even when you have content limits on.

Funny enough, you’ll see Kenyan parents brag online how their kids are addicted to ballerina cappuccino, and they can’t stop singing the brain-rot songs. This here is a giveaway that the kids are watching gore stuff on YouTube that they should not be having access to.

It’s also an indicator that you shouldn’t be letting your children visit people’s houses because you do not know what that house exposes children to.

The algorithm doesn’t care that your child is four or fifteen. It only cares about what they’ll click next. And what comes next is usually a knock-off version of an official cartoon, disguised as something innocent, colourful, with fast music themes and animated to seem “kid-friendly.”

If children can learn to speak English and master the alphabet by watching cartoons, they can also learn fear, violence, anxiety, and dark behaviour from the same screens.

Much of this content is created by online monsters, pedophiles and adults who do not care about your kid’s wellbeing.

Below are some unsettling cartoons and animations kids should not be watching:

There are numerous knock-off shows hidden on YouTube that use familiar characters like Elsa from Frozen, Spider-Man, Hulk, or Peppa Pig, and then place them in explicit, violent, or sexual situations.
  1. Skibidi Toilet – just search it and look at the gore images.
  2. Huggy Wuggy –
  3. Official Peppa Pig – mean, constantly whining, and often a bully to her friends.
  4. Masha & the Bear – she never listens to her ‘parent’ and causes nonstop chaos.
  5. Teen Titans – half-demon, half-human storylines that are heavy for young minds.
  6. Caillou – chaotic behaviour, zero accountability, terrorises everyone in the house.
  7. Roblox – too many pedophile scandals; just avoid.
  8. Bratz – problematic and unhealthy female representation.
  9. ElsaGate – characters eating fake poop, facing fake monsters, and acting out disturbing scenes.

This content actually exists, it targets children, and it is often created by child predators worldwide.

Some examples of the bad content floating around YouTube:

  • Spider-Man sexually stimulating Anna
  • Suicidal Peppa Pig drinking bleach
  • Sonic characters stabbing each other
  • Paw Patrol with suicidal themes
  • Mr. Pickles
  • Wolfoo (a Peppa Pig copy… but worse)
  • Elsa drinking bleach
  • Catnaps
  • Superhero content (Spider-Man & Hulk) involving inappropriate acts
This is the kind of content that has 4 and 5 year-olds waking up screaming, saying they’re seeing monsters at night under their beds.

Below are some Safe, well-curated YouTube Channels for Kids that I’ve personally checked out.

Only subscribe to the official channels. Disable the search button, otherwise YouTube will still push dark content.
  1. Still Water
  2. Daniel Tiger
  3. Yakka Dee
  4. Wild Kratts
  5. Bluey
  6. Octonauts
  7. Numberblocks
  8. Alphablocks
  9. Sheriff Labrador
  10. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
  11. PBS Kids
  12. Danny Go (great for dance breaks)
  13. Miss Rachel
  14. StoryBots
  15. Sarah & Duck
  16. Sesame Street
  17. Puffin Rock
YouTube has been exposing kids worldwide to dark, disturbing content far too early. It’s harmful for young children and not healthy for teenagers either. These early hits of murder, suicidal themes in animated content, can double depression risks and aggressive behavior across age groups under 16.

How Do You Protect Children From Digital Contamination?

  1. Turn off search so only approved channels appear.
  2. Start with YouTube Kids, set age limits.
  3. If they’re using tablets, download the Family Link app to control what they do, and to give the gadget automatic downtimes.
  4. Use Supervised Mode on the main YouTube app. Link your account and pick channels together esp. for TV.
  5. Disable autoplay. This stops the slide into strange feeds.
  6. Check watch history weekly. Spot ugly patterns early.
  7. Don’t just ban content, talk to your kids about why some things are harmful. Silence and just banning without explanation creates sneaky behaviour.
  8. See bad content? Tap the three dots → Report → “Harmful or dangerous,” “Inappropriate for kids,” or “Violent content.”

Bottom Line: Let’s Reclaim Childhood Innocence in this Algorithmic Age

The internet is not your co-parent, and it shouldn’t raise your children just because you’re “busy.”

You see, children are not emotionally equipped to process suicide themes, gore, monsters, or adult anxiety at such a young age. Early exposure to these themes will increase anxiety, fear, and depression, even in teenagers.

Peleka watoto kwa park wakacheze bana. Let them be children. Nunua bikes and skates, instead of tablets, phones and ipads.

Stay alert. Check what’s playing in your home.

Review the cartoons mentioned above, go through your child’s watch history, and come back to share your thoughts in the comments.
